Premium IOL Options

This generation of cataract patients expects excellent vision with reduced dependency on glasses. Many demand a greater range of vision than what standard monofocal IOLs provide. Thankfully, the options we have for presbyopia-correcting IOLs are better than ever before.

Symfony – extended range of focus IOL by Johnson & Johnson

PanOptix – extended range of focus trifocal IOL by Alcon

Vivity – continuous range of focus IOL by Alcon

Educating Patients Before Our First Exam

Our responsibility is to give cataract patients the option to choose a lens implant that best suits their needs. To determine their level of interest in reducing dependence on corrective eyewear, we use an emailed electronic questionnaire that asks about vision goals and desires. Patient responses become part of their health record and help guide our exam-room discussions. We remain conservative in our use of premium IOLs, but want you to be aware of this process.
