CORNEA

IRIS

Although implanting the inlay is a sophisticated microsurgical procedure, it is relatively simple for those undergoing treatment and typically takes just a few minutes. Numbing drops are placed in the eye to ensure comfort. While patients relax in a reclining chair, the surgeon uses an incredibly precise femtosecond laser to create a small pocket in the cornea. Then the surgeon inserts the inlay and centers it over the pupil. With the inlay in place, the corneal pocket self-seals and heals with no need for stitches.
